First Presbyterian Church Shines Bright with HyLite LED Lotus Lamps

The Problem: An Aging System and a Six-Figure Problem
First Presbyterian Church of St. Petersburg was facing a critical infrastructure crisis. Their entire lighting system, including the traditional fixtures and some electrical wiring, was aged to the point of full replacement. The initial assessments were daunting, revealing that a complete overhaul was necessary.
The essential renovation was projected to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, a sum far beyond the church's budget. The situation was so severe that the church leadership was contemplating the unthinkable: shutting down their facility. "We had to redo all of our lighting due to the old fixtures and electrical wiring issues," explained Dave Aumack, the Director of Media. "This was going to be a six-figure project, and we didn’t have the budget for that. It was to the point of considering shutting down our church."

The Solution: A Cost-Effective Retrofit
Facing an overwhelming challenge, the church discovered a powerful and efficient solution with the HyLite LED Lotus Lamp. Instead of a complete and costly replacement of their existing fixtures and wiring, the church opted to retrofit them with 80 - 60W Lotus Lamps and 12 - 40W Lotus Lamps in a 3000K color temperature. This approach allowed them to forego the astronomical costs associated with new fixtures and complex wiring.
The retrofit process proved to be remarkably straightforward. The use of the GX16D quick adapter allowed the Lotus Lamps to be installed directly into the existing PAR Cans. When asked about the installation, Dave said it was "very easy to install" the Lotus Lamps. “We simply inserted the Lotus Lamp into our existing PAR cans & fixtures and did exactly what we needed to do. Thankfully, we came across this lighting solution. We didn’t know that it even existed.”

The Results: The Church is Saved!
The impact of the HyLite LED Lotus Lamps was immediate and profound, far exceeding the church's expectations. The new lighting transformed the space, providing high-quality, reliable illumination without the high cost and disruption of a full system replacement.
Most importantly, this simple lighting upgrade solved the church's critical financial and operational dilemma. Dave Aumack himself best captures the project's success:
“These lamps saved us.”
By choosing to retrofit with HyLite, First Presbyterian Church avoided a financially crippling project and the potential closure of its building. They now enjoy a modern, efficient lighting system that will serve their congregation for years to come, all while saving significant time, money, and stress. The HyLite LED Lotus Lamp proved to be more than just a light bulb; it was a lifeline.
